Location Central Il (Near Champaign, IL)

This car is a line Item on a GRM Challenge Build.  I'm trying to re-coup as much as I can.  My local junkyard is going to give me $150 if I bring this hulk to them.  I really don't want to do that as I'd love to recoupe anything more then that, and I really don't want to see this get crushed.

1997 Brighton lets start at $200 OBO.  Mileage is unknown but your going to be swapping some other Silly Subaru drivetrain in so the mileage will become what you put in it.

The GOOD:  Exterior is complete, and in pretty good shape.  VERY low rust (I'm not going to say no-rust as there is clearly corrosion of various degrees but for a mid 90's Subaru..  It's clean).   Glass is intact.  It's a base GC8 Coupe so it's very light.   All Wiring is intact.  I unplugged everything, and cut nothing, I also only removed the wiring attached to the engine and transmission.  Has Title so your not going to have to do any shenanigans when you drivetrain swap a wrecked 2002 WRX into it.   It doesn't appear to have been in any substantial accidents.  The front beam is very nice and the trunk looks good as well.  Battery tray is solid and rust free.

The BAD:  Interior is haggard and old man brown but your going to swap it anyway as 22B WRX never came with Brown Interior.  It does have dents/dings an the paint is not great (And Forrest Green).  It was a GRM Challenge donor so it's had some parts removed here and there.

Missing parts of note:  Engine, Transmission, Front Subframe, Uprights (Car still has struts just removed and in trunk), Steering rack, Steering Column, Pedal Cluster, Fuel Pump, ECU.

This seems worth salvaging.  It's perfect to combine with a rusty 2.5RS and rejuvenate your love of the GC8.  I always heard Subaru's are like Lego and I couldn't believe how easy to disassemble this car was.  I could easily see parking it next to a drivetrain donor and swapping parts.

If there is anything you want pictures of let me know.   I'm not in a huge hurry to get rid of it and may be able to work with you on delivery.

For Sale post when it was a complete Car

I wish this had been for sale a few months ago, a slow work schedule would have given me the chance to swap my Legacy L parts into this.

Back to the top.  This is sitting on my trailer now and I am getting close to sawzalling off what I need and scrapping the rest...  Don't make me do that.

Any hope that it could be made to roll again for additional cost or is it all up to the buyer?

FWIW I knew somebody who took one exactly like this, installed a 2003 WRX drivetrain, and removed the front halfshafts...  Fun little car.

The LMP360 needs the uprights, steering rack, and lower ball joints.  If you brought parts we could reassemble it.

It has 4 wheels.

I'm sure we could fabricobble the ability to get it into a dolly..

Cool ... I kept imaging it with a BBC and a 9 inch in the rear.  Woulda been a fun build but I'm sure Brandon will build something way better.

To facilitate pickup I did something that probably has never been done before.  I fabricobbled 2nd gen RX7 uprights onto Subaru A-Arms and Struts. .

It worked way to good.  Unfortunately only 1 pinchbolt fit and I only bothered to drill 1 LBJ bolt.  But it works!!
