Yes sorry I forgot to mention she said it is clear title in the man's name.

Do you know if the number is a cell and they don't mind texting or would they prefer a call? I don't really have anything to do this weekend...

If anyone in Ohio ends up with this and ultimately decides to deal out, I'll let you know when we're planning on heading out there...  devil

I'm pretty sure that's a land line. It's the number given for the BnB. When I called the first time I said "This might some strange but I hear you have a Corvair you want gone." She was excited that someone was interested.

That just means you can keep both hands on the wheel at all times, to better wrangle the dangerous handling characteristics. cheeky

I heard it needs a floor.  I bet the body could fit on a Corvette chassis...

Honestly, with as cheap as nice Corvairs are, this is a parts car.  Floors = lots more.  I'm not in need of a Corvair parts car.

Does it "need a whole floor" ?  Or does it need some sheetmetal strategically placed and a weekend's worth of work to make it a cruiser?  Automatics make great cruisers. And 4 doors make great family cars. And, with the right exhaust, that flat 6 makes awfully nice noises.

To be honest, while the Powerglide is kind of a lame transmission, it works well with the low-end engines of the timeframe.  Same for the Ford 2 speed used in Falcons.  A 144 or 170 Falcon with the 2 speed is a fun little car, in the "carefree motoring" sense.  Not fast, but if you wanted fast you would not be starting off with a six cylinder Falcon, or for that matter a '61 Corvair.

Floors are less than $300 for all four. Just saying. Think of the children.

my children are going to be cruising in a 57 chevy that doesn't need floors soon enough, I don't need something distracting me from that.

That's a look that will always be in style with me, even if it not anymore. (telling my age a bit, prolly)  Although it takes the right car, done right, and that means more money than I have to invest. I stay black wall out nowadays.

Dated a girl in the early 80's had a all original 4 dr. with reasonably low miles. Primer and surface rust, but straight and no cancer. Ran great. Way more fun to drive than something that - meh? - deserved to be. Wouldn't drive a 4 dr back then, but now I kinda prefer them. (old married man with 4 furry kids!)
