Lowered with some rust and 450K miles, but at least they're asking a bit too much for it...

I had a roommate who owned two of these consecutively, under no circumstances would the doors latch closed when the temperature was below freezing, she used to drive with one hand on the door handle so it wouldn't fly open..

Not sure how I missed this when it was posted... but has sold.  I wanted one of these 20 years ago when I bought my 2003 Jetta TDI wagon, but I only found examples with 100K+ miles and really high asking prices - to the point where just ordering a new Jetta was easier and not that much more expensive - plus, I'd know the service history - important with a TDI, but even more so back then when finding decent service was difficult.

I agree, $3000 was a strong price for a car with so much rust.  And since B4 wagons weren't the most common car VW ever made, I'm not sure rust repairs would be easy.  But since it's sold, who are we to judge.

I recall the Manual TDI Wagon as having the largest range(using EPA MPG) of any car sold in the US.
