That mess has been for sale for years. Dude started at a crazy price and over time he's come down. Another destroyed XJS by a hack 

I feel like there's a way to make it look cool, but this isn't it.

Maybe it needs more wacky exterior mods. As it currently is, the carbs contrast too harshly against the rest of the car.

Sometimes out of the box thinking reminds you of why there's a box in the first place.

I think a little more low, a bigger front air dam and maybe some kind of tall-ish rear lip spoiler would better complete the look. Something like this:

The linkage setup over the hood is wild to me.

 There's an obvious way to make this look cool (see below). For the carbs, fab up a bubble-esque cover and then do a similar thing on the roof for zagato-ish double bubble/helmet humps. Problems solved, you're welcome

I'm like that with a few cars, where they're so cracked out I *kinda* want them, but only when the prices drop to LeMons rally tier.

Duel carburetors? Is that some Rochester vs Holley thing?

So you have to unhook the linkage to open the hood?  Checking oil levels would suck.
