1998 Saturn SL2
189xxx miles
Automatic
Leather, Sunroof, A/C, Power Windows, Power Locks, Keyless Entry.
CD/mp3/usb player with Bluetooth calling (not streaming tho), speakers are ~5 years old
Bad:
Needs a Radiator at some point (seeping now, its still driveable)
Needs a transmission, valve-body, or input shaft nut (shifting is all kinds of wonky right now). The latter 2 are both serviceable without removing the trans.
Needs a catalytic converter. The light just came on for it, but its the original cat, so I'm surprised it lasted this long.
Good:
Motor runs great
Comes with perfect gastropod-class wheel & tire package (15x8 Konigs, 205/50 Extreme Contact Sports) with ~5k miles on it
Also comes with snow tires (185/65-15 Altimax Arctics) ~2k miles on these
Also comes with another set of factory wheels with bald all seasons
Has H&R sports with 1 coil removed
Comes with a big rear swaybar & brackets
Has extended lugs
Has plenty of camber adjustment - ovaled strut holes + camber bolts at all 4 corners
Other related stuff that comes with it:
An unattractive aluminum radiator that I never installed
NIB Rear wheel bearings
Extra extended lugs
Factory springs
4x wheel spacers
rear hub spacers
A front strut tower brace that definitely doesn't go to a Saturn, but I have no idea what its for
A spare ICM & coils (ignition hiccuped the other day and I snagged this as a precaution)
Various other small spares
A factory cd player
Roof rack is not included in price, but I could certainly work something out there. This style is not made anymore, but the way it attaches to this car is superior to almost all other designs. Its rock solid, it does not interfere with window or gaskets in any way, and it can be removed in like 2 minutes.
If you manual swap this (easy and cheap) and replace a few bushings, you'll put down a respectable autox time without issue. Straight line speed is not its thing, but with minor mods & lightening, you should be in the mid 15s. There is definitely budget to do boost or nitrous outside of the gastropod class, and I'm sure you can get in the 12s that way.
It is totally drive able right now, just the trans shifts funky. I don't know how long to trust it for, but a highway trip home should be pretty safe.
$1500.. I'm just throwing that number out there. If you are interested please make me an offer. Willing to split up wheels/tires/etc. You don't have to take it all. We can write receipts separately for wheel/tire packages and non-challenge stuffs. I have the invoice for the 15x8 package, and the wheel portion of that cost is approx $278 when new (tires are $free in challenge rules).
I'll be back to update this post with better pics (and a better list of extras), but all of these pics are in the past ~5k miles or so.
