The description says it's all jet thrust powered, so maybe that's the top speed!

Connecting the 350 HP shaft output to the wheels seems like it would be a significant challenge.

Yeah, pretty sure the shaft on those is 90 degrees off of where you would want it to be for hooking to a normal transaxle. Slow acceleration is to be expected when using something with so little thrust.
