Should be a stock 8v VW intake for Improved Touring. I miss mine, great deal there with the spares and trailer. What's the suspension? Good luck!
His intake points the opposite direction from mine which is why I ask. Mine is an '84 so I'm intrigued if the '85 points the other way. If so it might be a nice swap as it seems to really open up access to the transmission compared to my stock setup.
Yes, it is a stock intake...suspension is some type of modified coil overs, the ITB legal setup. Rides like a dump truck and corners like a skateboard.

Ahh, you have an MK1 VW so it's on the driver's side, the MK2s have the fuel distributor/intake on the passenger side. FWIW, I had an MK1 head with an MK2 intake manifold on my car. Didn't look cobbled together so I imagine its a bolt on swap.
