WTB: Cheap RX8

I know craigslist/FB marketplace is full of them but thought I'd give GRM a chance to sell me one first; plus you guys are WAY more trustworthy.  Anybody have a running S1 RX8 they want to sell?

How cheap? I had no plans on selling mine but probably could be convinced if it were going to someone on here. It's a 2005 with 75k. Mazda Reman a couple years ago (~5000 miles?). Sohn adapter, KW V3 coilovers. Could come with 17x9 or 17x8 RPF1s for extra $. I can give more details when I get home from work tonight if interested. I would probably need at least $3500 for it to make sense for me.

Lemme guess... New stage build with an rx8 and 2.5 swap, keeping the trans in place, and a little firewall surgery to allow for the rearward mounting of in inline 4 in place of a rotary?

I'm at the point where speculation about that sort of thing needs to meet with reality, and measurements, and driving.  Maybe.

Also I love rotaries so you're at least partially wrong.

I'm not unhappy to be wrong in this case. I've never really played with a rotary, so I'm curious where you'd go with that. 

So I got home and told my wife that I was thinking about selling the RX-8. She wasn't too happy about it. Not because she likes it but because she knows she will have to hear me 'bitch and moan about how I shouldn't have sold it'. I will send you the car's story later tonight but my wife may have talked me out of selling it.

I responded last night. Glad you commented because it went into my 'promotions' folder.

I have a 2005 sport (cloth interior, but also have full leather interior) non sunroof 83k miles. Rusty rear wheel arches, but solid otherwise. With Cobb accesport I'd do $2k. It has 2 sets of stock RX-8 wheels. Currently has BHR coils and catless mid pipe. Will include stock cat mid section. Chicago suburbs.

Oh come on, what would you rather have?  Some POS Nissan not even from this continent, that needs not just one but TWO turbos to get out of its own way, plus an all wheel drive system AND an all wheel steer system, both so horrifically complicated that they need mlitary-grade acronyms of extreme impenetrability,  ... OR!!!  A car for which you can easily find parts, that starred in a blockbuster Marvel superhero movie!!! (X-Men! The movie that launched Hugh Jackman's typecasting as Wolverine!), has SUICIDE DOORS, and just needs a little work, parts are cheap no time to fix?

Seriously this should not take any thought, the choice is obvious.
