Sooo, not needing another project...and not having money for one...and not having the room...the Father-in-Law comes out of the LBC Closet so to speak, and decides hes going to help me out.

"We" now have a 1969 MGC-GT!

9000ish total MGC production. half-ish GTs.

My plans are to put to period correctness with only a slight tweeking to the enigne. However, I plan to fix the supension. I guess 45 years later the handling got sorted out with tires and sway bars.

It makes and excellent addition to the Morgan...water tight and warm!

Nice, the poor mans AM DB5. I've heard you can squeeze some good hp/torque from their 6 with some minor tweaks.

I wish I had your father in law!!!

Drove one many years ago. Definately had more power than an MGB but a bit front heavier handling. Good score.

I cant wait to drive it either. After hearing the 'poor mans Aston Martin' comments, I keep seeing the car painted silver with a moving map display...and knock off hubs that come out of the axels...

The only think that Im not sure about is what color I want the seats and carpets. Obviously black with white piping, but the more I have thought about it, the more Im thinking grey carpet with that olive-ish green leather and black piping.

Opionions?

Nice project, doesn't look like a money pit, bet you can be driving it fairly soon. Wheeler Dealers would probably do this in one episode.

Interior- Agree with the black seats/ White piping but I'd go with a dark, probably black, carpet. To me, it's the traditional LBC color scheme (hides the oil stains from your shoes) White or tan headliner.

Good call Mike. I was talking to my Strait guy with the queer eye and he said the same thing.

I just sort of get tired seeing the black upholstery. So now Im thinking about the vintage olive leather seats w/ black piping(?) and door panels with black carpet.

Dougie, The word is that this engine is pretty tuneable esp. with a triple SU set up. I guess BMC did thier homework on this engine. To bad the entire project was about 500 bucks underfunded!
