So got the email this morning my kit for the GT6 has been sent to the factory.
Its a custom order because my shadow blue interior did not start showing up in GT6's till the Plus model rolled out.
I figure when the were making my car, the kit was on the floor and someone installed it. My tags say shadow blue...
This caused a little fussing with the order, but in the end it all worked out.
I also run with the 69 full back seats.
Identical to the low backs, just features a welded in head piece. They will be doing it in the shadow blue with the plain flutes.
Moulded carpet set, new seat foams, seat covers and panels.
I can't wait.
Hey, that duct tape matchs the seat in my Escort
:kidding:
My '69 MGB interior is original and well-tattered. I'd really like to do it up with new panels, carpets, etc. at some point.
I was really thinking about all of this over the weekend.
If I had decided the GT6 was to be a racer, I was more or less going to get a full cage and what not, but the Mk1 role/path is set firmly on a really nice GT road car.
We'll see what happens in the next few yrs. Now that this order is place the GT6 is more or less finished.
The chrome for the bumpers is needed, but that can wait.
From this point on I'm saving for my rat racer. :)

Good to hear Andre. Can't wait to see it installed. I'll probably purchase a new interior kit for my Spit 6 in a year or so. I have to see how it feels with Miata seats, although I don't mind the stock seats since I'm familiar with them in my g/f's 1500.
Yeah I hear the MX5 seats are nice, but in my GT6 my head would be through the roof :)
At 6.2 the GT6 is a cozy fit.
My racer will have to be an open top car or have the floor pan dropped and a Gurney Bump on the roof :)

Andre, Thanks for the interior shot. I don't think that is the blue that the Royal Blue Mk2 would have come with but it gives me an idea of what I will need.
My blue is called shadow blue.
The other blue triumph offered was called midnight blue.
From this point on I'm saving for my rat racer. :)
There's no shortage of them.
~Here is One~ of dozens that are around.
GT6 is looking good!
~Here's a GT6~ that comes to shows in my area.

Vintage rat. ;) should have clarified.
If I'm going to drive myself nuts with parking issues, its going to be a race car.

I'm sure when I'm ready I'll find the right beast for me hehe

Yeah, the height issue with the Miata seats is one reason why I'm not planning to ditch the OE seats. The main reason is my seats are shot and I alreayd have the Miata seats. Plus, I'm pretty sure I can easily sell the Miata seats for what I paid for them after I reburbish the OE ones.
Love the cat picture. When my g/f re-foamed & covered her Spit's seats, she had them in the house. I think she has a picture of both seats next to each other, covered in plastic, with both of her cats sleeping in/on them.
Jeeze, does that mean if I change my seats to blue I have to get a cat???

No... none of our interiors are blue... but you should get a cat anyway.
No go black, blue has been a pita.
But I have to say, I hope the CND climbs and the UK pound slides a little.. loving the exchange rate.
No shots of them in my seats, but...
I got my molded carpet set in a custom color a couple of years ago from England. It was cheaper than any other source even with overseas shipping. I used Chart One in England. The carpet is well made and I have been very happy with it.
My order was with Newton.
I had thought about going with a blue, but decided black was better.
