So over last weekend we, or I, bought a new car. This one is not really much of a project, it has a few small needs that need attending to, basically a front valance paint chip repair and a dash repair, leather is pulling up a little. I know not much of a project but this car is a keeper for sure.
Yes there is no way David or Tim actually believe I will ever really keep a car longer that 6 months but this one is different.
Wow that sounds like I am in need of a 12 step program about cars. :)
We will have it in Monterey and it is blue...
Oh and it is much more of a Modern Classic.
Guesses? There is a prize for the first correct guess.
Humber Super Snipe?
Borgward Isabella Combi?
Delahaye Type 135 - Figoni & Falaschi?
Just a few random guesses..
Well again it is a modern classic...
Also it is not Japanese.
944
911
928
M3
M ROADSTER
Just a few I can think of. I know you recently sold a 911, but maybe you found another?
It's either a Ferrari 308 or a Bentley Turbo R.
Neither but great guesses Kapt. Kaos. :) You must read the Buy&Sell column regularly.
Same for Bravenrace, all good guesses but keep trying.
Need more hints?
Ferrari 400/412? They often came in blue.
Of course I might be guessing that because those have been on my personal buy list just about forever...

Modern Classic that's a keeper for an autoholic? Hmmmm........'Benz 500E or a BMW M6?
It's not a BMW or a Mercedes.
Tim, I am quite insane enough to buy a 400i. I know better. :) Great cars that are miserable to service and have super high service costs.
How about a lotus... or an abarth...
Abarth for a modern classic?
I can tell you we have never had one in our fleet.
Maybe I'm putting too much stock in the 'blue' thing but two other cars that come to mind are the various Alfa Alfetta based sedans or Jaguar XJ6/XJ12s.
Nope. I can say it is not too common in blue.
Oh and it is not a roadster or convertible. Also it is not American made either.
Four seater? Made somewhere in Europe?
Yes to Europe, some would disagree that it has 4 seats...

TVR Tuscan.
This is a good guess, and would have been my choice in a dream world where I could afford one.
Not quite on the mark, though...
So its a 2+2 with a leather dash. I am guessing mid to late 80s.
Hmm... XJS
Renault Alpine A310/A610/GTA?

I'd prefer a Sagaris myself, but I don't believe there are any in the US. I think there's only a couple late model Tuscans.
Not a TVR though after driving one a 280i is on my short list.
Not a Mondial either.
The car is a car marque I have owned but never the specific model.
It has 55,000 original miles.
