Takin her home.
That there is a contender. Pretty sure the Jags are going to out drag it, but those fancy little Toyotas sure do dance around the cones nicely. This could be quite a good time.

I tried for 1400 but 1500 was the lowest he’d go.
Cosmetically, it’s pretty rough. I hopped in for a test drive anticipating many squeaks, rattles and weird noises, but it made none of those. Drove very straight and smooth and ran great! 1500 was an easy deal for me. Not sure yet if I’ll put much effort into cleaning up the paint(s) or just bring it as-is.

I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing with it. I’d love to give it a try at rallyx but those hard tops are $$$. I’ll keep you in mind if I decide to send it along.
Being as those have a space frame you can pull all the body panels off and shoot them off of the car. Rear quarters and everything. So cosmetics should be pretty simple to make the car 1 color with some rattle can.
Congrats on the buy! Solid pickup at $1500!

Really? They are light. IIRC lighter than the first MR2 so it surprises me if they pulled that off without going all "Fiero chunky".
Just in case you didn’t know, if you’re keeping the 1zz, make sure to delete the precat! Those were pretty notorious for failing and killing the engine.
These have always kinda intrigued me. With a 2zz swap it’s almost a budget Elise.

This is a huge problem, especially on the early cars.
Maybe just remove the body for the Challenge period? Would look pretty cool, plus doors weigh a lot.

only double what you paid for the car.
The full story is this: The PO also has a nice Spyder that he is working on honda K swapping. He bought this yellow/blue car with a burned up motor (due to the precat). He then swapped the good motor from his nice car into this one. The precat is now gone and it has a nice little header. The early cars are apparently notorious for drinking lots of oil. The PO claims this engine doesn't burn any at all. We'll see. I'm having fun with it so far. Removable body panels are nice. Maybe I will try to spray it a consistent color. *The car also has working a/c!
Fresh engine, AC, header! What more could you ask for @ $1500? How many more till the new grosh is full?
Forget the one solid color...you're halfway to an art car livery! Green bumpers, orange wheels...send it!

Until a lift goes in, there’s room for 1 more.
I am NOT trying to fill it up.
