Hey all,

I'm looking at a 2014 Focus ST for my next daily driver and the compression numbers are:

PISTON #1 130, PSI PISTON #2 128, PSI PISTON #3 125, PSI PISTON #4 128.
\r\nSPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT RECOMENDED.

They say it looks great, but every thing I read online days 160-170 psi is what I should be seeing at sea level. Is it possible that what I've read on the internet is false or is the dealer? Would you but this car with 50k miles, cracked windshield, bent intercooler, bald tires, and 4 curbed wheels?

Id pass unless it was a crazy good deal.  The things you mention included with the dark tinted windshield are all signs that i dont want.

Pictures are old/deceiving. No tint.  The deal is good for Puerto Rico.

Does anyone know what range the psi should be for the Focus ST?

There can be a big difference between hot and cold compression numbers. Hot test is always recommended, if possible. With a lot riding on the outcome, I would even buy or borrow a second compression tester to make sure I am getting good readings.

Compression gauges vary a lot too.  My Snap-on gauge has about 4' of hose and consistently reads 10-15% lower than others.
