I backed out and did not attend. Wind chills were too sustained cold for me to want to drag my 5 year old son out into the woods.
Yeah, same here. Plus, I was afraid the 3-hour drive to get there would turn into 5 hours with all the snow we've been getting. Next year for sure!
Cold cold cold. IT was seriously cold. I was feeling sick so we bailed after SS#14 Huff Old state instead of staying to the end as usual.
Pics
I'm jelly. Thanks for sharing the pics. It's a long drive to get there from California.
But.. What's going on in that last pic?
The results show 19 entrants and 16 finishers. Isn't that a small entry list? I haven't followed RA very closely the past couple of years, but I thought grids used to be bigger than that.
that won't include regional entries

Ice ice baby. That corner was so slick, buy the time it got down to the lower 2WD entries almost every car was going off. This was a particularily amuzing point when three cars were in trouble at the same time.

A total of 57 cars started, I'm not sure of the total finishers. There are effectively 3 rallies in one. The National SnoDrift rally on Friday and Saturday, plus the Sno Club rally on Friday and the Drift club rally on Saturday. It's like $800 to enter the Sno and Drift but closer to $2k to enter the National SnoDrift
OK, that makes sense. 57 cars is a nice healthy field.
On SS14 (camp 8 road) if you got there before the road closed you got to see me drift the frankenburban around the corners lol.
I made a post about sno*drift earlier but I should have titled it something other than "I'm getting sweaty" lol
This year was an excellent sno*drift!

Interesting you didn't have difficulties getting around Huff/Camp 8 corner when so many did once it was a stage. I guess that's because it was polished smooth by the big boys in the TNB's (Turbo Nutter Bastard machines) by the time they came through. It was interesting to watch. It went like this. 2WD comes into corner a little hot but on a resonable line and slides into snow bank. Next car come up with marshal waving at them so they slow right down and creep around the corner on the inside where there is still some snow and they are OK. Road is now clear, rinse, repeat.
I didn't see you or Paul's 911 as the course closer. Where you in the Rex?
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
4wd high made for some fun. I never got stuck at all during the weekend.
I saw Pauls 911 at parc/expose but I thought he was supposed to be greenlight but I never saw him go by. I was not in the rx7 this year, I did see one run around though.
