Wow, thank you. I would not have thought to do that tape stuff, genius! We're gonna miss ya but we'll raise a glass.

Three of the 14"ers are as tall as 2 of the others!!! Or, 1.5x as wide!
Qute is also probably 1.5x the lbs, and more than 1.5x the HP!
Clearcoat is “fixed”.
Honestly, it ain’t pretty. Even Macco would be ashamed.
But.... Challenge car.
Should be an ok base for the vinyl.
Had some time to do the mockup of the stripes touching and continuing along the top:
Looks more '70s than '80s and reminds me of an old-school RC plane. When I was halfway through it looked like this, which I thought was interesting:
I still like this one better:

Me too, let's go with that. I still dont have any orange vinyl. That is the only color I couldn't get.

Done.
5ft x 1ft ordered $10.99
Shipped to the hotel and arriving Tues for Robbie.
In reply to Robbie :
I will bring some orange and a metal ruler to cut the strips , be nice to have a piece of glass to cut on /
Minor mod: What do you think about cutting the stripes so that they don't follow the bodywork where it angles in behind the cabin?
In reply to GameboyRMH :
It should not follow that “body line”. Hard to tell from the pictures, but that’s not a real body line. It’s the horizontal surface of the top of the fender- essentially, it’s the plane of the rear deck.
Keep the vinyl straight like your last picture.
Only chiming in to wish everyone involved the best of luck. Sounds like this is nothing new but it sure seems ambitious to me!
Gave her a quick bath.
Maybe you should have paid paid me already, Robbie. I’m not sure I wanna let her go now!
Do you plan to replace the dented driver's door with the spare one that came with the car, and repaint both doors? I was confused by the sanding of the clear-coat on the dented driver's door, which I'd expected would be replaced.
In reply to JamesMcD :
Not my call.
It was easy to sand the clearcoat while I was in the middle of it.
How worried are we about rain? I can bring a tire groover if we want the option to turn those slicks into intermediate/rain tires
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
I would RAIN X your tow vehicle for travel Wednesday thru southeast to G ville . 1 -95 should stay dry . I predict weather to stay off Gulf Coast No effect on Challenge .

I have one too. So maybe combined they will be a bit of dry/shade space.
If it's going to rain hard Friday maybe we find a set of street tires (use the ones on the car now or hit cl or Walmart). That's assuming it's running on Friday, of course.
I'm "on the way" down already, camping in the smoky mountains with family. Will be in Gainesville Wednesday evening.
Contact me via pm if you have questions, I'm planning for Thursday morning starting at 7!
You'll need to log in to post.
