Heading Back to Europe for the Z car's traditional arch nemisis. The car that beats physics into submission with it's rear engined supercarness.. The 911
Of course the 240z needs no introduction, but aside from having 4 wheels and a six cylinder, could not be more different than the german heavyweight.
Wow. This is the first one I really can't make a call. I feel like I'm more partial towards owning a Z because my gut reaction says it'd be easier/cheaper to work on, but I don't really have any experience on air-cooled 911s...
Damn. I guess I'll have to go with the Z. But it's really like asking if you'd prefer a boy or a girl for your next child. Either way, I'd be thrilled to death.

I am still going to go with the 240Z, not necessarily just on performance, but because of how it changed how Americans looked at Japanese cars more than any other car.
Z. Definitely the Z. 911's are ugly, Z's are gorgeous.

I love both. I think the 911 is less likely to return to the earth, though.
Just on competition history alone it would be the 911 for me. That and I think it P car looks better. ( I already know I am weird )

911 Hell, if this had been the choice vs the TR6 I would've picked the p-car.
Again a tough call but I'll go with 911 on this one. Porsche is the name that is synonamous with performance and racing and 911 is their key car. After all, don't most kids dream of a Porsche? The Z is quite the car and you get performance, looks and usefullness with it but it just isn't a Porsche.
I'm one of those guys that has lusted after a 911 since birth. Er... early adolescence? The Z-car is nice, but hardly in the same league as the Porsche.
You didn't specify which 911, and it makes a difference. So....depending on the year 911, I gonna go with that. But, if it were a targa of any kind, or a mid to late '70's, or 964 or after, I would go 240Z.
Does that help... Not really I suppose.
If we are limiting the 911 to 70-74 model years, I'd take the 240Z.

I hope this is true. Really want the 240Z to win.
I'm a huge Z-car fan, but I don't see how you pick anything over a 911, given it's history. Also, the price points are significantly different, too.
The 911 has panache but I'd still go with the Z car.
If price isn't considered, I don't see how a 911 could ever lose to a 240z. But with price in the equation, I would probably go for the 240z. You can get a really nice Z for less than a crappy 911. So since I would hypothetically be spending my money, I would go for the 240z.
I would pick 911 IF it was 73 or earlier. Confucius say: impact bumpers make 911 look like E36 M3
Any other 911 that isn't special (Carrera 3.0, 930, etc.) I would pick last in gym class. 240Z ftw in that case.
911 for me. I would rather have the TR6 though.
Have you been watching too much Wangan Midnight?

Let's at least have a picture of an early '70s 911 if that's what we are considering.
Me? 911.
Definitely 911 for me.
Whenever I see an early Z I think "Hey look, that is neat! an old Z" When I see a old 911 I think "Oh hell yeah I WILL own one of those"
