Sure, a 2005 Ford GT sold for $495,000 at the Mecum Florida Summer Special last weekend.
However, if you look at the other end of the spectrum, there were also some deals to be had for under $10k.

I'll take both the m5 and the fox. Early fox chassis are my favorite of the series--a coupe would be better, but this is still sexy.

I somehow managed to time buying a Foxbody before they really went up. It helped that I got a smoking deal from a friend.

The more and more I look over results from Mecum, there are at least a few people who have gotten some absolute steals.

No kidding. Salvage title or not, that is absolute highway robbery at that price.
Steal for that Fox Mustang, too. It looks super clean, and I've been watching those cars. Even with a 4-banger, that's easily a 5-figure car on FB Marketplace.

Road America had Auctions for a few years. If it wasn't a #1 car it went for peanuts. Better yet is the next day when the purchasers had to short sale something to make room in the trailer. I was second in line for a #2 Pantera, for $9000. I would have been giving up an 89 M3 to get it but this was the late 20th century so the M3 was also a $9000 car.
A big block four speed convertible C3 went for $5000, due to some unfortunate pin striping, other than that a perfect car.
Who says deals can't be had these days? I'm still kicking myself for missing out on a NASCAR stock car that Kyle Petty drove to his final win. It sold for $11k.

I would have paid way more than that even if it had a dead engine. Holy moly. Was it a no-sale?
Edit: NO - the results say it sold. $10k in suspension work in 2024. Someone must be crying over no-reserve.
