69 Valiant - How much would YOU pay?

$1500? They've got it listed on craigslist for $3500.

Interior looks pretty nice so I'd say $1500 is pretty reasonable.

$1500, maybe $2K if it drove really nice. I was all geeked about it until I saw that rear quarter.

My dad had a similar vintage Valient. From his opinion of it, the best example in the world is worth about a case of really bad beer.

A-Body values have been creeping up for some time now. I wouldn't be surprised if they get the $3500 asking price or at least close to it. If it were a 2-dr it would be worth double that much. How long has it been listed?

Up here thats at least a solid $2000. But MI has salt and rust.

About my take on it too given the body damage (and I'm not sure you can get repro sheetmetal for it!). I suspect the odometer may have gone around once, but with an interior that clean... maybe not!

$150 maybe. That could be based on the fact that I've driven one of those, though.

Runners listed anywhere in the $2k-$3k range seem to be getting scooped up before I can even call. I have this sneaking suspicion that there's ONE dude with a barn who grabs these things as soon as they pop up. As madscientistmatt may have noticed, there is a dude in Ellijay who buys them off CL, and relists them at double the price.

If it already runs and drives well and isn't rotted to hell and back, i'd pay $1500.

I THINK you can adapt a 2-door quarter to work. I know those are reproduced.

$3500 is high, unless there's something really special about it - and I really like A-body Mopars in general and Valiants in particular.

But, my parking areas are already full of white four door sedans of various makes, including that car's older brother.

Personally, I think the four-door late 60's A-body is one of the best looking four-door musclecar era cars that are out there. A LOT of otherwise nice 2-door designs don't translate well into 4-doors.

I'd list it at decent condition, below fair.....I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it with the body damage, and the lowly fact of being a sedan.

The only bright side for it is the 225 instead of the 170

Edit: If the a/c actually worked, I'd say $1500 would be reasonable.

Since it's at a dealer, I'm guessing they picked that car up for less than 2k and are trying to make a flip.

That said, it's a clean looking car, apart from that rear quarter (and hopefully no hidden repairs), the interior looks nice and as others have said, that's one of the better looking four doors out there. 1500 would be fair...perhaps even 2000. But even if I were in the market for one, I'd pass at 3500. They made enough of them, there's better deals out there.

These things make quite the sleeper with a mildly built 318. That's not even 3000 pounds worth of car there.

No sheet metal for the back of those cars are being repopped. Two or 4 door. The later Scamps use the same quarters as Darts, and those are available.

There was a spotless '69 Valiant Signet 4-door for sale around here for $3800. Don't know if it sold or not. It got moved right before the first snow in the fall. I thought the asking price was on the high end of the scale, but reasonable for being in the rust belt.

I know where a mini tubbed '69 2-door Valiant is for sale. Guy is asking $6500. But the quarters have been replaced, it's a 4-speed, interior is done, and has all the pieces to put a V8 in there with it.

I'd rather just push one over a cliff...

FYI to all: The whole purpose of this thing is to be a cheap, gnarly, cool old sleeper/cool car to take to the drive-in. It will be boosted to death. I'd prefer: 1969, 4-door, green or brown, but the white is kinda cool too, and the interior is pimp.

Every mulletard and his brother has a 340 or 383 swapped whatever. It ain't E36 M3 if it don't go "BWWWWEEEEEEEEEEESH!"
