Hi All,

So I'm about to embark in some bumper painting for a few of the cars I have, and I've spent the last few years sort of getting the major components I need. I have a few spray guns, with a devilbiss FLV4 (I think) as my topcoat sprayer, with a few other things before that for primer and prep. I have a 5hp 40 gallon compressor, that puts out somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 CFM. But the last question I have, is air quality.

What are your recommended ways to manage air humidity and things like that for someone that is effectively going to do painting occasionally but not enough to really want to get one of those big stand alone air drying machines - honestly it's less about the cost and more about the space.

Thanks!

Air line filter/ separator and dessicant dryer at the tank outlet. Inline filter at the spray gun. Keep the air tank blown down of moisture too.

I only have a normal water trap on my compressor and have painted quite a few things over the past few years and have never had a water problem. I do most of the painting outdoors as I don't have a clean enough garage to make it worth setting up inside.  Just try to paint on a day with low humidity.
