BMW fighter it's not, ugly it is.
But there is some hope it might be fun. Depends upon the weight.
The Holden version is very bad ass looking! I'd rock it.
As usual theirs is better looking than ours. The fact they are showing it there too gives me some more encouragement that it will be built. Hope the 270hp 2.0 Caddy ATS motor finds its way in there along the way. (the sooner, the better) 1.4 is just too under powered for that car.

I give them credit for at least trying lol!! Just about every "small" RWD coupe/sedan will be a BMW fighter. In the minds of journalist and even some manufacturers, BMW rules that category.
If they can get the weight under 3000lbs and power up to 200hp, it should do just fine.

The 130R checks all the right boxes for me on paper, BUT when I saw it in the flesh it was butt ugly. The proportions are just off somehow.Looks like a slightly shrunken Dodge Challenger that didn't shrink evenly, if you know what I mean.It looks much better in photos than it does up close.

This is exactly what we need here, more RWD turbo four-cylinder cars. I would so rock one of those. If the Toyobaru is successful, we may have hope.

I'd love to see a Capri slotted under the Mustang. Smaller/lighter/less-optioned than the 'stang with the 2.5L from the Fusion as a base engine and the Ecoboost 2.0L for an XR7.
Only way I see it happening though is as a 2-seater and only if Miata sales went through the roof.

well... if the Scion/Subby sells... maybe that will be adding fuel to the fire. I'd LOVE me a retro Capri... offered with a few twin cam options, hand crank windows, as few computers as is humanly possible these days would be a nice added benefit
The Holden model looks good. Hopefully the Chevy concept won't make it to production looking like that. With those wheels the Holden could be much quicker than the FRS stock-vs-stock if they can get it around the same weight.

Yeah, but it's AWD and automatic only. I'm talking about a RWD Sport Sedan with a real live manual transmission.

The A9X is the ultimate Holden, it has a very important history in Aussie Touring Cars, winning the championship and Bathurst many times, mostly in the hands of our Peter Brock. Australian sourced 308 ci V8 with 4 speed.
