My best guess is a prewar Peugeot

It's a Citroen Traction Avant four door that has been cut and shortened to make a two door.

My guess is one of the Citroen FWDs - aka "Traction Avant".  Although it looks like it's been shortened and the Citroen emblems are missing from the grille.

The wheels look like Ford issue to me, so who knows what lurks beneath the body. I kinda like the look of it.

Wheels are definitely early 80s Ford Mustang or Fairmont.

The bustle back trunk lid is neat. It would make an interesting hot rod, different from all the other stuff. It's a monocoque, so it would depend on how carefully it was cut and welded.

There's one too many wheel nuts for it to be properly French.

Traction Avant, surely.  Quite an attractive car, in stock form.

SW Missouri and "careful welding" don't generally go together.

Don't they have a wide-5 sort of pattern?

Looks like something from the TV show "Foyle's War"....  I'm guessing it's Brit.

It's funny to me that you posted that photo in this thread.

In maybe the first issue of Car & Driver that I ever read, there was a column by David E. Davis with a title something like "I drive a Traction Avant and a Topolino myself..."

I had never heard of either of those two cars before that day and now, here they are again sharing space in the same thread.

There's a great French movie from the 70s called "Diva" that features a Traction Avant prominently. They are super cool. I really want to resto-mod one while retaining the FWD configuration.
