So I have a 1989 VW Jetta Wolfsburg edition that I DD, and I've been thinking lately of upgrading the wheels.  I love the, I dunno, 1980s awfulness/awesomeness of 4 spoke rims and I think they'd go well on this car.  I'm working hard to keep this car on a challenge budget, as I'm hoping to enter it in the 2K challenge in a year or so.  Are there any cheap sources of 4 spoke rims, preferably 15 inches in diameter?  Ebay just shows me $500 Chinesium sets.

Just came in to say 4 spoke wheels are awesome

Campagnolos!

Escort RS200

Revolutions

These 14 inchers were stock on some A3 Jettas

But probably pretty rare these days

VTO will drill the American Racing inspired retro4 to 4x100 and they come in 15 inch diameters.

BMW e30 3 series cars had a 4x100 bolt pattern, you could try searching for wheels meant for those cars but you'll have to check to make sure the offset will work.

I'd be looking in the early VW Golf tuning world, but they'll probably all be 13" :)

Ran the 13" Kosmo 4 spokes on the FSAE car in my undergrad.

Don't think they're terribly cheap, but they have 15" options for the Kosmo.

So the E30 basket weaves are pretty awesome for 14 inch wheels and apparently used to be cheap, but everything seems to be expensive these days. They bolt right on, just have to use a slightly different lug bolt (acorn instead of tapered or something of that nature, I don't remember off the top of my head)
