Suffering from indecision and general auto schizophrenia on next project... Got a scruffy 911 targa (1985 - 170k, weak synchros and worn valve stem seals, crappy paint - but still running strong and handling well), 72 mgb w/ford 302/t-5 (needs brake and clutch masters and some suspension tweaking to finish). Also have a rock crawler I never use (73 ford bronco) and a bike that rarely gets use 2002 Triumph Daytona 955i. I've been thinking of thinning the herd and perhaps locost or p-car 914 with a six (recent thread on boxsters was intriguing though). Interested in an auto-x/hpde/occasional driver. Then again, really liked the 3 bmw 2002s I've had or an e-28, or tricked out bavaria, or arrrrgh
I get too attached, need suggestions for interesting/entertaining ride (wife doesn't like miatas) or reconfiguration of fleet (also have 4-runner for a DD/light towing and jeep wrangler/wife's DD).

Step one: give me the 911. I can pick it up next weekend. Meet at Dog'n'Suds?
Step two: find a 318is and test drive it. There was on for sale in Lake Geneva over break. The entire reason dad bought ours (the convertible version anyways) was because it reminded him of the 2002 he test drove in high school. This fits all of your criteria pretty well.
I'd sell the rock crawler, but just cause I don't understand that stuff at all... not enough thrills for me. Hang onto the bike, not taking up too much room. Hang onto the MGBGT cause its just awesome.
My own five cents.
EDIT: That 318 in Lake Geneva has been sold.

I'm up for Dog'n'Suds, even without a 911-exchange.
And I vote for clearing out whatever you don't use. If you are waffling over something, you may as well keep it. But if you don't use it, someone else can.

The rock crawler's gotta go. Semi tempted to use the triumph as a locost donor - 147 hp, sequential 6spd with decent torque, plus it just sounds wicked. But also what makes it a cool bike. The 911 - as the saying goes for an 85, they're all 15k cars - some just haven't had it put in them yet. I think this one may need to go too. Oh, and always up for a trip to the dog n suds or Fred's diner.
914-6 are all cool. But there are many issues to solve before tracking: shift linkage, oil cooling, roll cage, box the trailing arms, PITA to cornerweight...
Buy a Boxster. They're inexpensive, fast, fun, and sound awesome. Great to autocross and track. Great, actually, to drift, too.

I've got a VERY nice 71 BMW 1602 fresh b/c paint, all new seals, new interior, new clutch, brakes, etc...
Wana trade for a scruffy old 911?

We should have a get together sometime I'm only 45 min from LG, add another 15 if it is the Dog N suds in Richmond. My brother is in Round Lake. If it happens, count me in.

If you are interested in a Z-06, I know of a good one to buy. Like... less than 10,000 miles on an 01, owned by a close friend of mine.
