The newest, lowest mileage RS4 you can find.
That is my plan!
I'd also say Golf R.

2 kids so for me, four doors is a must. I do like the RS4 idea, however my max budget is prob around 14k

Just how coarse is an Evo 8 or 9?

It's doable. I've had a few friends use their Evos as a daily beater family car. Personally I did it for 6-7 years. It was fun at first but as I got older I realized that I hated driving it at legal speeds. If anything it feels like a PITA to drive in day to day traffic. Gas mileage can suck unless you plan to always stay within the speed limit and accelerate partial throttle everywhere.

Thinking about it (and after driving home in yet another snow storm...), Michigan winters destroy cars. Buy a cheap, nondescript beater SUV and keep the ZHP for the non-salt season.

What you're looking for is a Subaru Legacy B4. The M3 was the reference vehicle used to develop the suspension. Turbo, AWD, pretty much the same power and weight as a 330 ZHP... yep that's the one.

Too bad they never sold them in the states.
