I did it just like the videos man. I'm telling you, it didn't berking work on mine.
Also, it took less than 5 minutes to just pull the stupid A/C compressor and put it back on with the belt.

Dude, congratulations!!!
bastomatic wrote: Awesome Poopie - major congrats on the news! Strangely enough, we are considering downsizing from the Mazda5 to a Leaf, at the same time as we are considering adding a second child. Are we nuts?
I do two kids every day in the Leaf - I have a real minivan for when the full compliment is around (4 kids).
Congratulations, Poop!

Duuuuuuude! Looks like somebody's been busy somewhere else besides the garage.
JohnRW1621 wrote: Small peanuts in the Poop!!! In the Mrs Poop at least. Well done. Slipped one past the goalie or was the goalie pulled for the power play?
Never been a goalie on this team. We're just really good at missing the net I guess. THANKS ALL!!! RE: Downsizing and adding a kid in a Leaf, yes, I think you've lost your mind...unless you're 5' 3". I really need to get the rear-facing seat in the van and figure out if I'll fit. Anything beyond all the way back on the driver's adjustment is really uncomfortable for me. Heck, I wish the thing had another inch or three of adjustment. Starting to regret not just telling mama "berkeley you. We're buying an MPV." She said it looked "too much like a mini van." Feck. But for now, we still love the thing.
Oh, for those of you with 2nd gens: Does the compressor engage roughly? When we first crank the car up in the morning, ours engages with a hard, audible "clunk." I'm assuming that's what the noise is anyway. Only complaint so far...that and 22mpg average, though that may improve a little after break in I guess.

Dude! I've been everywhere but the garage. I need less hobbies...and perhaps less hours at work...and some kind of motivation to turn a goddamned wrench. I have become "that guy."
Infant carrier fits fine in our Mazda5, it helps to recline the second row seats a bit. With my son's giant Graco seat backwards it's a little tight.
I'm thinking about making a set of the brackets they sell inn Europe to move the driver's seat back 2". I'm 6'5" and barely fit, a little more room would be great.
We can get the seats almost entirely back with our rear-facing carseats in the Mazda5. I looked for the smallest models they sell and bought those. One is a Cosco Scenera, one is the Combi Cocorro. The Combi in particular is quite compact, and easier to fit with the front seats maxed rearwards.
So this happened; exactly 20 months of ownership resulted in this:
Missed the photo by a mile. I am going to need tires before winter and ive ordered replacement sway bar end links for the rear. So mostly normal maintenance (beside two synchros at 52k).

Haha! That's got to be one of my favorite clips!
"You gotta ATM in that chest lite brite?"
Tires worn out at 63kish and I had these with great tires so boom, Cayenne wheels on a 5. Not to bad; need to machine a bit of each adaptor to get them set just right.

That was cool, thanks!
My CD player bit the dust on the way to work. I managed to get it to eject all the CD's in one of it's briefly-working phases. It clunks around like a robot orgy in there, so I'm assuming the actual CD changer part is what's biting the dust.
Time to search replacements on Crutchfield, this won't be cheap :(
