Inspired by the country bashing thread, what are the best Murder Songs out there?

My votes go to the following:
- Blackjack County Chain, Willie Nelson
- L.A. County, Lyle Lovett
- Crazy Eddies Last Hurrah, Cross Canadian Ragweed/Reckless Kelly
- Sonora's Death Row, Robert Earl Keen

Primus, My Name Is Mud

Six foot two and rude as hell I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell

Told that by this sonsabitch that lies before me bloated blue and cold

We had our words, a common spat So I kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat

Queensryche has the best stalker song in Gonna Get Close To You. Not a murder song but it's a first step sometimes.

"I dial your telephone each and every afternoon I wait by your door till you're asleep at night And when you're alone I know when you Turn out the light"

Not sure I'm altogether comfortable making light of these things but if we're just having fun then what the hell?

Not just murder, but genocide. If you're unfamiliar with the subject matter, Google Josef Mengele.

Anyone who uses autotune in their "music" makes me want to murder people, does that count?

Taking David Gilmour back to Pink Floyd, there's "One of these days (I'm going to cut you into little pieces!)"

Maybe we can come up with murder-by-car songs to keep it relevant?

Pink Floyd - One of these days. The only vocal in the entire song is:

"One of these days I am going to cut you into little pieces"

Simple and to the point.

Big Black: Bazooka Joe

Joe comes back from the war very different. He has done nothing but kill and watch death for many long months. He has trouble adjusting until a friend suggests a new line of work, compatible with Joe's new skills.

I like it, because the subject matter is implied, and they sampled an M1 Grand in the song.

Snoop Dogg - Murder was the case. I believe he is also the only one on the list to face actual murder charges and beat it on self defense.

Little Piece Of Heaven - Avenged Sevenfold. A whole 'nother layer of creepy besides murdering.

There's an early Jewel song with the line "I'm going to use your tongue as a stamp", which I always thought was pretty chilling, especially delivered in her little girl voice with an acoustic guitar backing.

Manslaughter song: I Hung My Head by Sting, later covered by Johnny Cash.

Not murder. Clearly involuntary manslaughter (no intent).

Jimi Hendrix: Hey Joe

Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot your woman down, you shot her down. Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot you old lady down, you shot her down to the ground. Yeah!

Yes, I did, I shot her, you know I caught her messin' 'round, messin' 'round town. Uh, yes I did, I shot her you know I caught my old lady messin' 'round town. And I gave her the gun and I shot her!

Yeah, I corrected that. Wasn't there a Vonnegut story along the same lines? Deadeye Dick IIRC. And check the time signature of the Sting version. Cash simplified it.

Still, people got killed. Just like in The Legend of Johnny Kool by Brian Setzer.

I think metal songs should have been disqualified from this list
