Episode 19 just came out!
I was offline for a couple of weeks when Binky 18 was released. I didn't find out about it until later, and that extended riff on wiper fabrication porn was like a gift from above.
Ah yes, my favorite subject.
And by "favorite" I mean "AW HELL NAW".
It's not that I hate wiring. It's that it is really, really hard to make any kind of wiring look professional, and not like a giant wad of multihued spaghetti, and I am a perfectionist.
This episode does make me think it might not be so bad to forge ahead with my idea of using a complete Miata wiring harness in my RX-3, at least.

I got the entire wiring harness from a miata to swap into my mgb as well. I really do like the idea of using a good harness from a more modern car.
Mmm wiring. I must be the only one that actually finds it to be theraputic.
When I did avionics it was fantastic. Someone else tore out the rank interior then everyone left you alone. I could sit around drink coffee and study a wiring diagram then climb into the interior, turn on the portacool, and do what I needed to do.
That said I didn't care for it so much in school (or Physics 3 which was all EM stuff during my AE days) but I really enjoy the practical applications out in the real world.

Good. You're now on my Challenge team. Once all the mechanical and cosmetic stuff is done I'll provide you with a nice quiet garage (with beer fridge) where you can wire away in peace and quiet.
This is probably my favorite build series on Youtube.
The in-depth of everything is just so damn fascinating. Always gets me in the mood for some tea, but not with milk. That's just weird.
Also them not having a "Must be Done by" date or trying to build a car in every episode makes it all that much better. Toss in them actually knowing what they're doing.
Am I the only one who was expecting a Rube Goldberg project when they laid everything out on the floor to test it?

My MG has just enough MG wiring to let me use Lucas switches. The rest is either Miata or Camaro.
I'm with The0retical. I like wiring. It's all so logical and you can concentrate on one circuit at a time. Snaking an unused wire out of a harness is satisfying like pulling dried white glue off your fingertips
Electrical is where I can fully get my freak on. My obsessive-compulsive is strong enough to be problematic at times. But when I do electrical, it's my best asset.

Surely there is a third option.

One of my favorites was when they mentioned, "we'll need earths..." and in the next frame, an add-hock grounding loop was added to the harness. Realizing that probably took hours to create.
I was also jealous of just having enough room to do that.

That's all I really need in life.
I talked about it in my RX-3 thread but I don't even like music when I'm working. I don't ever get to sit in the quiet and concentrate on a task anymore. I get a lot done when I have that ability, unfortunately the reality of my life now is making sure no one under the age of 5 dies at any given moment, then going to the emergency room when they somehow don't (I've spent way more time in the ER this year than I care to admit.)
I used to be impressed by the Binky build ( still am) but then I ran into the boat builders.
The boat-builders not only satisfy my fabrication addiction with a wide variety of genres, but they also tend to so in weekly installments rather than every few months.

Is there a particular channel or group? "boat builders" gets you a massive crap-ton of results on youtube...
In reply to NOHOME :
Yep. Boat building and renovation videos can be a DEEP rabbit hole to venture down...
I think they could do Binky videos weekly, but they would be much shorter and vary wildly in content. I'm sure some of them would simply be videos of Nick scratching his head over a few pots of tea as he figures out how to make something fit.
