That is horrific.

Thats a bummer because the rest of the car looks good. 

And everyone thought the Bangle E6/90s were bad.

I'm like to think my E61 is a bit better looking than this mess. 

Based on recent evidence, I would suggest there are better ways for BMW to meet corporate diversity disability employment goals than to hire legally blind exterior designers.

Trying to steal Lexus' lunch in the "unusual looks AT ANY COST" Chinese market I'd guess...

Sorta reminds me of the '58-59 Edsel grill.

I've owned some pretty cars and some not so pretty cars, styling has always been of minor importance to me.  I've owned BMWs since 1971 but that grill might test my brand loyalty.

I never thought I'd say this, but maybe Bangle wasn't so bad.

I think it looks great, has an Alfa feel to it.

There really is something off with the X7 grill. It looks like a weak attempt at going Bentley or vaguely reaching for some status beyond the BMW brand yet indicative of having no class. Kinda like Posh Spice. 

Now...that's a face I haven't seen in a long time.

"Concept 4" is officially a BMW concept car. Hopefully the grill with get dialed back some.

Why are they stealing car designs from. Saints Row and trying to sell them? 

Edit: nevermind I remembered that car wrong.

Still about obnoxious enough to fit into that game though.

It looks like somebody had penned an overall great design, but then got to the grille and realized there weren't any good options to go in the space left for it.

whatever happened to the "restraint" most german car makers seemed to employ in their design departments?

It makes me appreciate the clean, simple styling of the E39 even more!

And let's be honest, the E34 was even better-looking than the E39. 

I see a trend here, and it's not a positive one.

The worst part of that huge grill, is that like 70% of it is going to be blocked off.

I think car designs have reached the "Simpsons did it" apex. All the good shapes have already been used so much that they can't come up with anything new unless they recycle old stuff (retro cars) or make increasingly bizarre new shapes that push the limits of geometry.
