I think the Rio is much less claustrophobic to be in than the Mazda 2 or Fiesta (or Focus for that matter,) especially if you are tall.

In reply to Lancer007:

Non abarth fiat 500 are banned from stock tire classes

SCCA forums from Jan '13 said:

Appendix A, page 167:

"Excluded from Stock for reasons of stability per Section 3.1:
Chevrolet Sonic
Fiat 500 (non-Abarth) Nissan Juke Scion xB (2004-06) Scion iQ"

Appendix A, page 174:

"G Stock

Fiat 500 Abarth (2012-13)"

Appendix A, page 181:

"Street Touring FWD (STF)

Fiat 500 (2012-13)"

Appendix A, page 182:

"Street Touring Compact (STC)

Fiat 500 Abarth"

Appendix A, page 191:

"D Street Prepared (DSP)

Fiat 500 Abarth (2012-2013)"

Please note that the Fiat 500 (non-Abrath) is not classed in any category that can use R-compound tires while the Fiat 500 Abarth is listed in both the Stock and Street Prepared categories.

also the Hyundai/Kia aftermarket consists of exterior stuff and maybe a header for most of the cars.

The local Mazda dealer lost a sale today, they wont even try to match what some other dealers are offering on 2's.

There is a 2 i am interested in for $12.6k but it is in the middle of nowhere kentucky, 150ish miles away but 4+hrs drive time.

A Fiat 500 turbo just touches my upper limit for what I want to spend, but there are no fiat dealers within 100 miles. There is also a '13 abarth but it is black and I will never but a black car again.

Wait, you want to autox it, but you are concerned about bolting on a turbo shortly after acquiring it? Does not compute.

If autox is your goal, may as well choose something competitive to begin with. That'd be the 2 for STF. If you are going deeper than that... well, its probably silly to start with a new car.

eventually turbo not right off the bat. But Yes I am going to try to get into autox, eventhough the local club here isnt a scca club. I would have to drive to Knoxville, TN to do scca autox.

but the dealer in KY is looking better.
