Canadian Invasion

Is it really fair that all of the major American road races are north of the border this weekend?

I mean they are only a 5 hour drive from each other.

ALMS at Mosport

NASCAR and Grand Am at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Okay, Okay, Indy and Craftsman Trucks are at Chicago, but they don't count as "major".

Set your DVR's now, because it is going to be a good weekend. I know mine is getting a workout.

Saturday:
Crack of Dawn -F1 Quali from Spa on Speed
2PM - Rolex on Speed

Sunday:
7:30 AM - Belgian Grand Prix on Speed
2 PM - Nationwide race from Gilles Villeneuve on ESPN2 4 PM - ALMS from Mosport on Speed 8 PM - Izod IndyCar series from Chicagoland (if you like roundy round or need something to lull you to sleep.)

Isn't really an American invasion of Canada? Then again, is it really an invasion if it's Canada, or is it just going to the 51st state?

well, I thought it was pretty obvious that Canadians would never invade anywhere, so I guess I figured everyone would know it was the American Invasion of Canada.

Maybe it would be better suited to "Temporary Occupation", because on a race weekend like that, there will surely be more people from New York in Canada than Canadians.

Granted, Canada has provided us with several people and things that have enriched our lives...

That being said, unless Canadian bacon is actually made from baby seals, there is no way that Canada can ever repay us for the pain that Celine Dion has caused.

Nope, he's one more the Great White North owes us for - born and raised in Stafford, Ontario according to Wiki and the recent People mag article my wife was reading. Then again, you gave us The Tragically Hip, Pam Anderson, Molson - "An honest brew makes its own friends" - and Hockey Night in Canada. I grew up in the northern 'burbs of Buffalo back when TV came over the air and CTV was a hit or miss proposition depending on weather and exactly which way the big antenna on the roof was pointed...
