Good luck everybody down in the GRM HQ land. Hopefully will not be as bad as they are making it out to be.

Yes almost all of the tracks now having it looping back across southern Florida to emerge in the nice warm Gulf waters for a restrengthening and attack on the gulf coast...
Good luck to all in the path.
Godspeed guys, it's going to be a rough one, don't do anything stupid or it'll kill you. Check in as best you can once it's safe
Dang this storm is moving so slowly. I am watching the radar and it's just sitting there off the coast. I hope that everyone is OK. You are all in my thoughts today. The server appears to still be up, so I will assume that it's not underwater and that's a good sign.
Truck and trailer loaded, full of diesel, ready for a banzai run north on 19 in the morning if it doesn't look like a dangerous idea. Had a good day with the kids on the beach, time to call it and get back to Ohio before work Tuesday.

It doesn't look like as good an idea as it did last night. Thinking to stay one more night and by then the projections have it way up toward SC. Ive got the wind forecast in front of my and dragging an enclosed trailer sounds more safe in 10mph winds than 25mph ones.
Stampie, keep us updated

When you do head up, I recommend taking I-75 instead. It will add some time and you'll have to deal with Atlanta but it will keep you inland and away from the wind and rain. Additional, if you stop for the night half way, there will be hotel rooms available.. Expect no rooms if you stop in the Carolinas.
Not even considering 95/77 at this point. Atlanta sucks but it'll be tolerable on Saturday.
I hate the i-75 drive but whatever it takes.
Getting booted by the hotel, theyre booked solid tonight. I had this room through tomorrow but cut it short one day at the beginning of the week. Oops. I am hoping there will be cancellations for tonight somewhere around here that'll allow me to get a room
Drive safe Pat. If you do leave I'd do your original plan of hugging the coast. You are on the west side of the storm. That'll give you more break from the wind because of the rotational nature of the hurricane. Here in Jacksonville is not too bad. We had a strong band come through at 6am and lights flickered then but just a moderate rain right now. Also consider checking hotels south of you.
Just FYI for those that might be on the road, they're reporting all hotels here in the Macon/Warner Robins area are already full.
Yeah, safe travels to all of those on the road. We're in Tampa, and the westbound traffic on I-4 was brutal after Orlando. We got here via an alternate route just fine. Sounds like getting up to Atlanta was really tough, too.
Just checking the traffic maps, and it looks like I-4 and I-95 are closed near us. Well, worst case we're stuck here with friends, power, food, alcohol and a Challenge car.

If you're on the road and and looking for a hotel, feel free to call me night or day and I'll jump on the computer and find you a room.

I could think of much worse fates!
Got a better radar picture and the eye looks to be even with NordicSaab. So far it's better than I expected.
It got worse. Top of a tree next door came down. That got our attention. Lucky that house is empty. The eye is directly west of us now so hopefully it'll start getting better.
