I like them. A Boxster S with a hard top might be a better $ value, though.

Very pretty car. 987.1 Caymans still used a variant of the M97 engine that has some...issues. I would suggest looking into the "IMS Guardian".

I've had mine for a year. No issues with my car whatsoever. The IMS issue is real, but nowhere near as common as the internets would have you believe. IMS guardian is good idea.

Never driven an S, but I would sell body parts for an R. Without a doubt, my favourite car, of all the cars I've ever driven. Love it truly, madly, deeply – would have eloped with the press car I had, if I thought I could get away with it.

Nice cars, but expensive cars. Depends on what you want - a nice fast sports car or nothing but a Porsche. If you want value there are other cars that will give you that performance at a lower cost, but if you are a Porsche fan, that model wouldn't be a bad choice. A friend has one and I've driven it and enjoyed it, while silently thinking that I wouldn't have spent twice the money to get slightly less performance than my own daily driver has.

FYI, other than fuel, I have spent approximately $0 on it in the past year of ownership.
