This car is also from an era of Subaru where awd was not standard. Many Subarus were fwd only and given the absence of trunk lid badges calling out the awd option, I think this one might be fwd.

Indeed...it's FWD. I'm OK with that, it's less stuff to break. I'm not looking for a show or collector XT, nor performance/handling. Just a decent one I can drive and enjoy. A purely emotional purchase to fulfill a teenage dream.

Where that dream comes from, at least for me, and this memorable commercial:
Driving that car across the country sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I'm so totally in, if you change your mind. That's right up my alley. And I'm already in the PNW. The auto trans is kind of disappointing though.

That's funny. Had the financials made sense he would show me the car and condition for a cross country drive...in the words of Shark Tank, "I'm out."

There's nothing wrong with that, my wife got rid of her mx3 with the v6 and the special edition purple color and one day I'll probably be writing the same thread.

All yours, my friend. Tell him that Steve from Atlanta referred you. He said he wanted to sell it to someone who would appreciate it as an XT6 and not just like a beater old used car. Let me know if you're going to reach out to him and I'll give him a heads up.

Ha, no I meant I'd totally drive it across the country for you if you wanted it. I definitely don't need another project.
I am currently working on getting my Scorpion from Seattle to MD, that shipping rate is definitely in line. Currently the shipper has two cars and needs 6 more to get it on a truck to come east. Hopefully before the New Year, but who knows.....
Sounds like you have changed your mind on this car, there are definitely cars worth shipping but you are better off finding an XT6 closer to home and in better shape.
