Looks like we may be having a minor tendency to double-post new threads? There have been at least 2 this afternoon, one made by a staff member.

I went to put a video in my build thread but there's no YouTube option now. I can't paste the embedded code because of the Ctrl issue.
Next to the picture icon there is a newspaper looking button with a plus on it. Says media embed when I click on it. Did you try that one Stamps? Looks like it may have replaced the you tube button.
In reply to EastCoastMojo :
Ok so maybe it was my old shinny not understanding how. Tya that worked.
Ok, so a new issie has cropped up for me on the forum. Samsung galaxy s7 running stock samsung crappy browser.
The spellcheck does appear to identify misspelled words, as I get the red squiggly line. However, if I select a suggested word from the line above my keyboard it will sometimes just insert that instead of replacing the misspelled word. However, this is not consistent as many times it works correctly. I have even gone back and re-typed the same misspelling to try to recreate the issue to no avail. Not sure if crappy browser issue or maybe crappy stock keyboard issue.
Recently I had typed I'be when I meant I've, clicked the word, then clicked the suggested "I've" from above the keyboard area, and it inserted it in the middle of the misspelled word like this: I'bI'vee. Weird.
Edit: this seems to happen once I have posted and go back in to edit my post. If I am writing the post from scratch it does not occur.
It's worse than ever on a phone. I have basically stopped coming to the GRM board altogether now. I can load and read every other site on the internet lightning-fast, but your new board completely freezes. Chrome app, Samsung Galaxy S7, fully updated.
I'd like to see little things cleaned up. Like the copy and paste issue. Android, Chrome browser. I'm instructed to Ctrl C on a virtual keyboard. Also maybe simplify the picture posting thing. Like have a place to put the picture URL but then an advance button for all that extra stuff I never use. That said I still love you guys.
I just had a full screen pop-up take-over-the-phone "you won a gift card" ad, FYI. seems to be directly related to grm.
As of the last two days, I've been getting full screen video ads popping up from GRM on my phone. They seem to "pop" as I scroll about halfway down a given page.
Yeah okay I am done for a while. I dont use an adblocker here but the full page mobile takeover ads are unacceptable. Figure it out and fix, please.

Sorry about that. We're working on tracking down those redirects now. More information.
The reason they're so hard to track is they've gotten smarter. Instead of redirecting every time the ad loads they'll redirect like one out of 100 or some random number. Makes it harder to figure out who's doing it. They get smarter all the time.
My main complaint now is an inability to post photos. At least not in an intuitive way that is easy for my sieve brain to remember.
Used to be I could get the address link from Flikr, past it directly into the field, and I'd see the photo. Now nothing I do seems to work. The button above has never worked and the new version is more complicated than it should be. I'm not sure who thought adding all of those options was a good idea. Border? HSpace? VSpace? And the "preview" window is a bunch of text that appears to be in French or Spanish or Italian? Latin? Is this supposed to be instructions?

What?
And when I just tried to view the site on my phone (Motorola Droid), it lasted about 30 seconds before a Walmart ad took over.
Unfortunately, I'm starting to wish we could get the old site back...
Desktop with adblocker = it's all good.
Ian, my process is "click picture icon" "paste direct url" "click OK". Don't touch any other settings unless i am taking the time to resize the pic etc. it sounds like maybe you are not pasting the actual direct link from flickr.
Ed, thanks. Hadn't seen that thread as I was limiting clicks to get to a place to post a comment from mobile so I went to the thread I had commented on before.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you using Flickr as well? Where are you getting your link from?
This is the code from the "Share" option: https://flic.kr/p/XBZRXm
and when I paste that into the "photo button" I get this:
nothing... like literally nothing... I paste the link into the URL field, click OK and nothing happens.
I used to be able to simply paste the "embed" link into the comment field like this:
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/91054758@N02/36506989030/in/dateposted-public/" title="IMG_20170116_080348802_HDR"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4341/36506989030_5f859147d0_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="IMG_20170116_080348802_HDR"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
but now that doesn't work either.

Alright here's the step-by step for posting photos from flikr:
On their website:
1. Go to your Photostream and click on the image you want to show here.
2. Click the curvy arrow in the bottom right of the photo.
3. Select the "share" tab (The farthest tab to the left) and copy that URL that it gives you.
4. Come back to the forum and find where in your post you want to post the picture. Once you're there, hit the "Media Embed" button in the editor (icon with plus sign directly to the left of the smiley face button), paste the URL and hit "OK." You should get something like this:
On their app:
1. Go to your Camera Roll and select the image you want to show here.
2. Click the curvy arrow in the bottom right of the photo.
3. Select the "Copy URL" option.
4. Come back to the forum and find where in your post you want to post the picture. Once you're there, hit the "Media Embed" button in the editor (icon with plus sign directly to the left of the smiley face button), paste the URL and hit "OK."
Dr. Hess said:Spelll cheeeck is not working again. Firefox, or is that Firefoxered?
Hm. Still working for me on all browsers. Can you double-check on another browser?
so I'm still getting this when trying to paste from mobile and tablet.
Android 7 and 7.1, moto x4, lg g5, Samsung tab 2.
Any work around or anything going on with it or am I the only one who can't paste?
You'll need to log in to post.
