In reply to slowbird :

Champcar is kind of televised, they do a decent livestream on YouTube.

Gridlife Touring Cup too.

Good point, what counts as "televised" these days?

I feel it depends on the perspective. For a sponsor, I'm not sure how much a single camera YouTube stream matters, but as a fan, that's definitely better than nothing.

Televised IMHO means it's being pumped into homes through network or cable TV. Even if that TV is a online subscription.

To be honest, the one good thing about TV is that there's a browseable schedule to find stuff that's on. Youtube is great but finding stuff is hard when I don't even know it exists sometimes. I never thought to search for Champcar race streams on there.

Good points on TV vs YT. (See what I did there.) iRacing on YouTube seems to be doing very well--not all of the races, of course, but some of them. We have come a long way since the big three networks and TNT.

Pour one out for Diamond P and American Sports Cavalcade. We need more cavalcades these days.

And where did "Cavalcade" come from? Could they have picked a colder, more awkward word?
