Trans Am GTA. i've had 2 sets of these for over a decade, that get swapped onto cars as they come and go:

same wheels, different car:

still same wheels, yet another car. this one's still in my garage:

and, finally, the same wheels, on yet another car. which is also out in my garage... they make even junk look classy:

I'm stunned no one has done the expected and posted Ronal Teddybears. I shall not.

Strosek did some wacky/semi-wacky Porsche tuning in the 90's (like 911s with the same really tiny headlights as this 928) and they also made wheels. These are those and I have to say, they look FLY on that 928. Actually, aside from the tiny headlights, that 928 looks awesome.

Centerlines were ubiquitous on muscle in the 80s.

I have always been fond of the LTW (light weight) Double spoke rims that BMW put on the M3 of E36 vintage.

These are early ones, I've owned 7 sets of these and I think they are my favorites followed by BBS RS and ronal turbos.

Strictly speaking, even though they still sell them today the Cragar S/S is a 1960s wheel - they came out in 1964.

My Ronal Centra T31 wheels (80s). 16x7 +25 5x112.

REAL Racing Wheels 16x9 4x114 (90s?). They're pretty light, too bad they fit on nothing I have.

My wife loved these:

But these basket style wheels were on my GLH:

I also had similar wheels on my GLC:

Those Cragar Supersports were so darned heavy. I put them on a 1966 VW Westfalia bus in the early 70s. You could feel them absorbing energy that should have gone to acceleration, and giving it back under braking. That was on a heavy car with low power and weak brakes. Those wheels work, but not in a good way. They belong on a low rider or something. Certainly not something of mine again.

I put Tacomas on it after, and that made a large improvement.

I have these 15" BBS on my '87 Scirocco. They are hard to clean, unlike the stock Phone Dial rims. I have a lot of stock rims, but they need restoration.

I always liked Speedlines. The ones on the Corrado were a nice 3/4 scale version of the F355 Challenge in the first post. Red one is my old car: ahh the memories...too bad the care and feeding of a Corrado is like a 3/4 scale 928.
