I think I remember someone on here having a Corvair wagon project, could someone post a link or some pics of that again?
thanks

I had one, but there have been others. Mine was dropped on a Monte Carlo frame with a HO 305 from a Monty SS, a T-10 4 speed and posi.

here's a link to the old GRM board thread that started after he bought and hacked into the '61 Lakewood that I owned for a while.
corvair wagon on G-body chassis
and here's a pic of the same car when it was mine. dan and i had totally different visions for the car, as you can see. 215/35-18 is about as big as you can go inside a stock early corvair sedan/wagon rear wheelwell.
There is/was an early 1 owner Corvair convertible project for sale yesterday on the Columbus Ohio CL......
Good Luck,

get a '62 wagon if possible. the '61s have some stuff that's unique to the '60-'61 cars, but the '62's are common with the '62 - '64 sedans (other than the obvious sheetmetal and glass).
most important difference to me is the master cylinder mounting. '60-'61 has it up under the dash mounted to the pedal carrier bracket, but '62 has it on the firewall, where it is easily swapped for a dual-circuit capable of feeding four calipers.
one day i'll do another wagon, maybe with a transverse 3.4 attached to a fiero 5-speed. i hate not having overdrive.
definitely different visions on the build - but both are neat approachs.
Saw a nice (@45 MPH opposite direction) Corvair wagon running around Savannh, GA last Wednesday - first one I have seen on the road in years...
