14 Forte Koup. Tires are all at 32psi. (!) light comes on and flashes for the first 60 seconds, then goes solid. Won't go off. Driven 25 miles now with tires at current pressure, they were at 28 before. This is a dumb system that doesn't give actual pressures just tells you that one is off or wrong or something. Basically a "Hey moron, go check your tires".

HATE HATE HATE this nanny E36 M3. The rio has had it's TPMS light on for 4 years because one sensor broke and we didn't see hte need to spend $100 + $100 to program/install/ a new one. Absolutely meaningless lights that have done nothing but pad the manufacturers pockets.

I'd disable the whole system since it's borderline useless, there are purely ABS-sensor-based systems that give you more info than that.

My local tire shop who I have a good relationship would plug in for free to tell me what the problem was.  Obviously, it's in their best interest to do so :)

I've only had them fail on the Chryslers, but the sensor was ~$70 for that, and didn't need reprogramming (the TPMS computer just picks it up after 15-20 minutes of driving).

That light sequence in the systems I am familiar with indicates a sensor failure rather than a tire pressure issue.  Unfortunately that usually requires the dealers fancy scanner to diagnose the problem.

Could be a dead battery in the sensor.  Oh yeah,  not replaceable!
