I have them on the front of my 06 mazdaspeed6. i notives when cold only the top and bottom of the pad contacts the rotor then it bows away from the rotor in the middle, is this common, should i be scared?

Only when cold? How are you gauging this?

If it is true then yes, that isn't right, but I somewhat doubt that is what is happening. Brake pad material really isn't flexible. If anything your brake caliper might be sticking and slightly cocked, but doubt it is warped in the center.

It would seem more like that the rotor would change its profile with heat, rather than the pads, though either one is unlikely.

I had EBC reds on my old-old Miata a few years back and had no issues, road or track.

EDIT, sooooo i took pic with the intention to post, i slid my phone cam till it was flush and touching the rotor to try and show this big gap i saw, turns out stock pads me flush with the rotor, the reds have a taper on either end that until you get the right angle is an optical illusion that there is a gap, the pads are fine.... im just a moron... ;)

Don't worry about it, happens. It takes a man to admit he is a moron though ;) haha jk But seriously some guys would just come back on here and tell us we are all dumb and that the pads are actually warped...then never post on the forum again.

How long you been running the Reds on the MS6? Like em? My buddy has them on his E30 M3 and he can't seem to get them to wear out. I've heard the Yellow Stuff is serious break performance at the cost of rotor wear and squealing...and cost.

I like them thus far but have yet to really flog them, compared to stock they give less braking for an equivalent pedal pressure, but push hard enough and the ABS still activates even cold so its just a difference in "feel" its not unsafe, i need ot heat them up but on my daily commute thats not possible.... I am SURE that when hot they will bite alot better, just havent had the opportunity
