A couple months back I purchased a Honda Ridgeline to serve as the tow vehicle for my Miata. Now I am in the market for a bed cover for it. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with them?

I can't offer any advice on the cover, but I would like to know how you like it for towing the Miata, as I have been considering the same combo.

For towing it has worked out great. I have been avg. about 14mpg while towing the car on a steel trailer, which in my mind is great. Sometimes I do wish that it had a longer bed though, but there is plenty of room for tires, spares, etc.... esp. if you fold up the rear seats.

No Ridgeline specific cover experience, but I've used covers on various vehicles over the years.

Fabric ones are a pain. Without support rails they sag under rain and snow. Tedious and time consuming to snap or unsnap. Mine generally lived rolled up at the front of the bed.

Hard covers worked much better. At least they were convenient to open. Drive you nuts with big things that won't fit under them. Very awkward to take on and off, even the very light ones.

We have this on our Ridgeline: http://www.autoanything.com/brands/102A298.aspx?kc=GOOGADW&s_kwcid=agri-cover|1176818468

We're a couple years into owning this cover, and I still like it. Snow obviously isn't a problem here in Fla., but it sheds our 2-inches-in-30-minutes downpours easily and with no sags or puddles, it rolls up quickly, and the big Velcro strips are on the sides are not only better than snaps, they keep it very quiet (you can tell when someone forgot to run their hand over the strips after closing because it's loud). It's not as theft-resistant as a hard-cover, but since the Ridgeline's tailgate doesn't lock it's not an issue anyway.

I've always thought hard covers make a pickup bed more or less useless. Those velcro ones are the way to go.

Best ridgeline bed cover would be to sell it and get a Honda Odyssey. I saw one the other day with a topper! I cant believe it.

A Ridgeline with a topper would actually be called a Honda Pilot.....

people still don't think the ridgeline is a real truck.. which it may not be.. but "real trucks" but alteast you can afford to drive the ridgeline.

Resale values on "real trucks" just dropped from the sky.

Don't know why I'm semi happy about this.... The demand drop has idled a few assembly lines in my company and the lay off number is currently around 150.

Ohh wait.. I know why.. They're wasteful vehicles when used as daily transport.
