Because why else would I read a huge 26 page "build" thread about a Colorado. Yes, a friggin Colorado. And all from ONE teeny tiny picture.

Say what you will, I am in love with that Colorado.
It'd be even better if they had turbocharged the I5...
Every time I come close to finally going on facebook, something like this pops up.
I also don't like the way some businesses are using facebook as a cheap gauge of the impact of their product or their business itself on the marketplace. Example? A local car dealership posted on CL asking for input on how to (potentially) improve the way the dealership sells cars on the individual basis. "We know car dealships are bad, tells us what you like/dislike about them." Then, when you went to reply, you were directed to the dealership's facebook page. My problem with that? The potential for the dealership to count all replies at it's facebook page as "friends"....when they won't all be friends. I'm very suspicious of any business that has started advertising "...XXXXX number of folks have "friended" us on facebook."

You know, if ya don't like it, ya don't have to use it. Problem solved. I don't say reality TV or song/dance/bitch contest shows should be banned, I just don't watch them, though bazillions of people apparently do.

I do believe you can set your privacy settings to restrict who can be your friend.
BTW, Ford has an overseas Ranger that is at least the equal of the soon to be re-vamped Colorado. But the idiots won't sell it here because they (currently) feel that the market for smaller than "full-sized" trucks is rapidly shrinking and can be covered better by de-contented full-sized trucks. The latest issue of Motor Trends "Truck Trends" carried the full story. This Ranger was engineered to meet THE toughest crash standards and emissions standards in the world...those in the U.S. Ford just won't commit, for the time being. Which is odd considering how many other "non-USA" designs are popping up at the blue oval stores.
I think the issue with the international Ranger platform is that it wouldn't be much cheaper than the F-150 if it were brought to the U.S.
that colorado = win
all colorados are actually, they are nice little trucks and if i could afford one i would be driving a 4 door 4x4 instead of a 96 blazer, and a reg cab shortbed 2wd instead of a 91 sonoma.

I like the engine and trans - but mostly a meh reaction from me, they seemed confused what it was for - there were a lot of odd bends in the tubing for anything getting near a road course - plus full interior. Nifty as a show truck and interesting fabrication - although they called in another shop and had quite a few mods to get the suspension working - get the feeling they gave up on it handling curves. The autometer gauges sticking out of the dash - looks amateur for a checkbook build. I see too much cool stuff from GRMers to get too impressed with throw the checkbook at it builds.
I have a facebook page thing - I looked at it last year - I don't go to anyone's facebook page and don't "like" anything or follow anyone - maybe someday...

Pretty sick truck. One point of contention, not exclusive to the MBRP build, is that these things never look as good as the concept art.

That is all mini trucks. I looked at a 2wd Colorado today while trying to get the MIL's Impala fixed. It is 20k. I can get a CC 4wd 1500 for 18-19k. There is NO reason for something with LESS "stuff" in it. The manufacturers are to blame for the loss of the mini truck market for increasing the "value" without any "rewards".
There is a market for a real truck that is small, handles big bulky 1500# cargo loads, and gets 25 real world mpg's. Of course it is mostly fleet that would buy them. The Transit, HHR, and Caravan just don't cut it.

What should be banned are the ads on EVERY picture in that thread.

Really? I just priced a 1500 work truck CC 4wd at $32,000. That's double what I paid for my 2011 Colorado, and I bought it up here.
Pretty much this in black.
That guy is about 3 minutes from my place, they are very good at getting other people to build all their stuff and then they show the finished product as theirs.
There are some companies that I enjoy supporting, so I have no problem with them being involved with Facebook. GRM, for one.

Thanks. And hopefully our Facebook page is fun. Believe me, it's not being run by a team working from a glass tower.
Speaking of Facebook ads, somehow they figured out that I have been looking at guitars. Stop tempting me, people.

Ditto. But when it leads FURTHER down the path of insanity.... I gotta stop somewhere and rest.
