Yeah, I couldn't decide between diffuser or not, so I drew both. I figure it can't be that hard for F5 to offer both. I designed the car to be easy to convert from hardtop to targa and back on purpose. Side windows will probably be an issue (except for probably fixed ones in the Competition Coupe), but I'll let F5 worry about that.
I am sad at the scans, as the orange one is actually yellow as drawn. The blue one is supposed to be WR Blue too, and it doesn't quite match.
See, now that's what I'm talkin' about! And to D2W I don't think its been posted yet, check the FFR site.
Keep the ideas coming, I'm lovin' this again.
KA, I'm a little confused... Are you saying that you did some sketches way back that are similar to what the Ford KA turned out to be - or that somehow they got your work and used it for the actual automobile? The Ka is not well known in the US but I have always considered it to be a brilliant design, maybe one of the most significant of that decade. If I were the designer of the KA, I would really be p##### at anyone trying to claim credit for it. Please clarify what you are saying.

No comments? Is it too boring or have KA's rants ruined the thread? Looking for some feedback...

its got some coolness to it, but I think the front end is a little too busy considering your feet are all that will be up there. De-busy the front, and add a touch of muscle to the rear, and I think youll be on to something...
Well it will have a radiator up there and I figured on the side scoops for brake ducting. I can certainly try and simplify it though.
How should I "muscle up" the rear?
In reply to Javelin:
I think its too boring. Looks like somebody took an Elise and tried to turn it into a 914. I can already buy boring, give me something unique.

Thanks. I will make the next one more bold. Funny you found 914 and Elise in theis one, as neither were inspirations (though I do see a lot of the 914 in the targa bar).
here is some further development on my factory five racer which do you prefer?
Also is an open wheeler allowed in this comp?
Hey guys! Ive been out for a week and I spent 20 minutes reading and catching up. I found a topless chick and what seems to be a russian manifesto along with some GREAT designs that just blew my mind!!!! A few comments...
KA, Senger, SET Halpine, Paolo, 05xtsy are sick sick sick!
The pros vs. the regular guys: This may not be fair but we are very aware of the important contributions of all guys and there may be elments in a rudimentary line drawing that are genius, so dont think the pros are going to win everything. Also I am trying to get some more corp money/sponsorships since we are a small company and if I can do this we will add more awards (like a top ten, or "best kitchen table/napkin sketch etc).
The design competition vs. the concept competition. It's both. We put a minimal amount of parameters to make sure things were open. The seat height, for example, MAY be lowered as the subie gas tank is slated for under the seat/rear bulkhead area... this can change and result in a lower roof line but that is NOT for sure. The truth is that the compatition is both design and concept with the reality being that the landmarks we gave are based on real chassis designs and limitations, yet there is some flexibility to adapt but it is a really qualitative thing.
Remember that there is still two whole months before the deadlines and so far we are going along well with some great submissions. We have some press releases due out soon, and thanks to everyone for the stoke and creativity.

KA: I for one would appreciate it if you would limit your postings to drawings of the actual design that you propose. Right now, you are poluting this thread with your meanderings, which few if any of us can read.
Okay, seriously? I try to get an actual submission commented on, but nobody is going to read the thread anymore thanks to this stark raving lunatic. UFO's? Dogs playing frisbee? Adidas girls ads? I mean come on, is this a serious contest thread or a joke?

I liked it! I think it needs more voluptiousness - good word? maybe some more curves in the side view?

Im thinking you should make the rear a little taller and meet the roll bar at more of an angle. It looks like a little like an afterthought right now (thats why I really liked the fastback/stingray approach of the blue one). And after looking at the front again, if the air dam were a little lower, allowing the front opening to be a little bigger, I think it would improve the look. But I agree, I see 914 all over that design...again, IMHO, thats a good thing
