It should have been a great day for racing.
This past Saturday, I had not one but two autocrosses on my schedule. Our local Martin Sports Car Club would run in the morning and then, after a snack break, return to the same lot for an evening affair.
It’s like an endurance race for autocrossers–and one of my favorite events …

On the plus side, I did a bunch of reading this weekend. When I get a few, I’ll update my latest in the “Whatcha reading thread?”
It was a bummer not having you there to co-drive the car but I am looking forward to the next event in March!
March? Yes, Martin Sports Car Club at Lake County Tech in Tavares, Florida, on March 10. They pretty much use SCCA class rules.
Details here.
It's no fun to miss an event. I watched the parking lot build for the $2000 Challenge from my hotel room. That was absolutely tortuous. Feel better!

Get better soon! Strep can get pretty serious, but I hope yours isn't.
In reply to DavyZ :
Thanks and getting better. I think the take-home message here is take care of yourself and keep things from spreading.

Feel better...
I've already missed two events I had planned to attend in '24, and a third is coming up. Completely different reason in my case. File mine under "life gets in the way" and projects take longer to complete than planned...

Can we take up a collection for Mr. Wallens to fund a visit to the local barbershop? He is in dire need of a trim. He is scaring the children.
In reply to mcloud :
I’ve had a haircut since–but it is time for another.
That photo is from last year’s night event.
Notice the safety vest? I BYOB.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Thanks, I needed that.

She’s such a good puppy. (Although she’s at the vet right now for a teeth cleaning.)

I had registered for a PCA event in Venice on Sunday that was canceled the Thursday of due to the weather and I kind of wish I went to last weeks event Martin event, had the continentals on my Civic and autocross in a slow car in the rain is always fun.
And since I had the double Martin event on my calendar, I skipped SCCA at the FIRM the weekend before. (Plus that let me do Mazdas at Classic Mazda.)
Hard to argue with dog photos, but hope you're feeling better.
I've got FOMO lined up against Social Overwhelm. Which actually reminds me of my dog, who totally wants to say hi and also doesn't want to go near anybody new.
In reply to Jesse Ransom :
Thanks and definitely on the mend. Still feel it, still kinda laggy. Going to be a chill weekend.
I mentioned to the vet that I recently had strep. That’s nasty stuff, he said.

Hope you feel better buddy - this pic reminds of a doctor I saw once........
Few things feel worse than that. I brought my wife to what was supposed to be her first track day, and we both got sick. I did one session before giving up.
Last year I had to bail on my Lemons team because of illness. That was two reasons for feeling like crap.
