The interesting thing is Ford built that same style COE truck with only minor changes from 1957 all the way up to 1990.

I had a momentary thought to buy this, quit my job, and just drive around doing vintage race car transportation.

Not a car hauler, but there was an identical truck(short wheelbase with 5th-wheel) next to our hotel in Williams, AZ last week. It was very clean, only had ~100k on it, and was $4500. I took a pic of it & the phone# if anyone is interested.
