Just watched the hit. Yeah, there wasn't any way in the world he was gonna drive tomorrow. He'll be so sore, it will be all he can do to sit up in bed when it's time to eat.

That was a brutal qualifying session. I'm happy for Checo, what happens if he is leading Max in the WDC points at mid season? Will RB allow that or will he start having mysterious problems? I hope Mercedes gets on top of their problems so we can have a 3 way fight
It was interesting to see Max so far out after his first lap in Q3, it was roughly the same amount of time Lewis was off of George in Q1. Max complained the tires just weren't working for him at all (berkeleying no grip!) but they had planned on him coming in to change to a fresh set for his final lap.
Lewis on the other hand did all of his final Q1 runs (3) on the same set of tires with a recharge lap in between each, in hindsight they should have likely brought him in after the first failed run to give him fresh tires for one more try.
And on the flip side of it all Carlos mentioned he was more comfortable pushing on used softs than new even though there was a performance deficit doing it that way. His first lap in Q3 were on used tires and he did not improve that time on a new set in his second attempt, Charles doing the same thing did though along with Perez and Max.
Watching Checo's lap from the in car, he never slipped a wheel, never missed an apex. Really strong lap. And, he races better than he qualifies, so...
Charles had a really nice, clean lap too.
Once again, I'm so glad no one team is head and shoulders above everyone.
Great to see Mick's interviews- he looks great. He mentioned he's pretty sore, so there is that.
And now over 30 min before the start, there's the first retirement- Tsunoda's engine let out on the lap to get back to the grid. So all 4 RB powertrains have failed before the 2nd race even started.
Damn fuel pumps :D
Lewis at the back of the pack is always interesting and RB/Ferrari are set up for a good bunfight as long as the engines last. Fun.
Will Lewis get ahead of George? I wouldn't rule it out.
Interesting to here from Mercedes that they missed on setup for Lewis. Wonder if they were able to reset things.
Yes, this should be Latifi's last season in F1. He's at least cost the team as much money has he has brought with all of those crashes.

Interesting that it messed the tires up enough to let Bottas through.
As for this SC- it seems that Hamilton is betting on another SC or red flag accident. Which is a good bet here.
Hamilton did not pit under the safety car! Interesting strategic choice. It's got him in 7th on the road with George two positions ahead. Must be planning on another safety car giving him a pit window.
I'd love to hear those radio calls.
Poor Perez. That's just bad luck.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
Now that I'm looking again, Mags is doing the same thing. Too early for a hard tire stop in the first place, but also a strong bet that another SC will happen.
And it looks that Perez will get a double whammy with Sainz being ahead at the SC line. Seems like it at least.
This restart kind of shows how awesome those hard tires are. Mags and Lewis are pulling away from Alonso- who has fresh hard tires.
Hamilton didn't fall for the same trick twice in a row like Max did last week.
I love that they can follow nose to tail as long as they want.
That's BS if Perez doesn't get a penalty for passing under SC and then giving the position back after the restart.
The way this race has gotten kind of static, it's going to be really tough for KMags and Lewis to find a space to pit. They may have really quick tires, but its still going to be tough to find the time to make passes. Lewis has a lot of work to find a return to the track higher than 15th.
