The way this race has gotten kind of static, it's going to be really tough for KMags and Lewis to find a space to pit. They may have really quick tires, but its still going to be tough to find the time to make passes. Lewis has a lot of work to find a return to the track higher than 15th.
With Alono's failure, Hamilton now has a gap just over 10th.
So much for that gap. The pit lane will be closed.
Man, bad luck for Lewis on timing. It might still work out. Fingers crossed!
Ah, bummer for Lewis. The strategy almost worked.
Leclerc berkeleying with Max is the best part of this season.
So will Charles make the pass on the last lap?
This onboard view sucks, get rid of it under the lights.
Darn it.
But good lord, does Max whine or what?

If you mean the helmet cam, I disagree. It's a great visual.
The braking duel to be second over the DRS line was the highlight of the race.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
It's a great visual but under the lights you get so much glare

I was following Lewis's onboard and the pits said "box box" and he didn't come in and they told him again but it was too late. Then the pits closed before he came around again. Lewis berkeleyed that up, he could have had a free tire change
In reply to loosecannon :
You're right that Lewis screwed that one up but it would not have been a free stop as the VSC had not come out yet, just waved yellows.
We'll see if anything comes from drivers not slowing for the yellows on the last few laps
Glad no one got blown up!
In reply to adam525i :
I'm not sure the audio and visual is synced on radio calls. They're certainly delayed during the live feed, don't know about replays. It sure was a last minute call one way or the other.

At least the location of the double yellows would have gotten Lewis a little space. It's too bad he missed that call- as he would have at least been in front of KMags to attack. Oh, well. Realistically, it would have been just one spot.
That last yellow was interesting, Stroll vs. Albon. Have to see some more views, but it kind of looked like Stroll didn't leave space. And that's a seat that will last a long time in F1, unlike Latifi's. Ugh.
In reply to alfadriver :
Stroll did a good job when he was wheel to wheel with Lewis. I don't think he's a future champion but he's far better than some other "daddy bought me a seat" drivers.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
True, but he makes more mistakes than not. I really have not seen much recently that he's something better than "dad owns the team" driver. It will be interesting when Seb comes back- is the Aston better than it looks so far?
I wonder since the cars can follow each other and pass now with the aero changes if it is not time to change the DRS. Maybe less DRS zones per track at the very least.
I think the goal is to eventually make it obsolete.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
I honestly think it will stay. Not nearly what we have now, where you can set up the pass in consecutive DRS zones like the have in the past two weeks. But there will likely be one- the cars are close, but not so close that a non-DRS pass looks likely.
For sure, it will reduce over the season. Although, the way it's being used make for some fun battles- going back and forth.
It might be interesting if they put the DRS on a timer and allocate a certain amount of driver-controlled DRS time per race. Somewhat like the "push to pass" in Indy car.

The Chuck'n'Max show. Very enjoyable.
Lewis just needed a wee bit of luck, but that's life in the fast lane.
Bad timing for Checo.
That was a fun race. I think it's a good omen for this season

I agree. Anytime Lewis isn't winning I'm happy. Anytime max is complaining, I'm happy. (And I'm a redbulllllll fan!)
I haven't been tremendously impressed with Leclerc in the past, but he's making a believer out of me this season. He definitely is a thinker, and definitely a racer who will go for it. Glad to see it. Good racing throughout the field so far. Kudos to KMag, he's doing a great job with no preparation, hoping for regular points finishes. With the field this close, and this racy, every point a team gets pretty much has to be earned.
Go Checo!
