Finally got to go through some of the stuff we had in storage when we moved here almost four years ago. Found two boxes full of all of my old grm's I think I've most of them from late 01' till present now in one place. It's been fun going back through and re-reading them. I especially liked the one with the "gumby 240z" That's a badass car.
Gumby was/is way cool. I went for a ride in it. Hits hard.

Care to share with your fellow forum members? I have one older GRM from when I was in high school. Didn't start reading on a regular basis til 5-6 years ago!
this almost seemed like a dirty thread title when I read it.. seriously, that is a WAY cool find
The one thing I do miss from the older ones was the very detailed profiles of cars that I other wise wouldn't have considered fun. I use to look forward to finding out the little tricks of each different car, I don't know how long I spent looking for a swift gti after reading the profile on that one.

Gumby is a flat-green turbo 240Z. It's just mean.
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Blow through carburetor no less.
Is that car still around, anymore development work done on it?
Believe it or not but I have every GRM from 1999-present. That Gumby artice was a good one. I wish GRM would do a project like that instead of "lets add some bolt ons to my brand new BMW"
Edit: Friggin $1600 or whatever HK$ exhaust? Really?

Gumby is still out there. In fact, I saw Steve, the owner, at the Mitty.
As far as brand-new parts on project cars, remember that we cater to a wide audience. Some don't mind spending real money, some would rather fab from scratch. The next issue features an exhaust system that cost us like $13.
I am sure he needed a smoke afterwards either way
I have copies of the for runner of GRM. "Auto-X" magazine. I have one dated Sept. 1986 sitting on the desk next to my computer as I write this.
I has a road test of the "all new" 1986 16V Scirocco including running it in a local auto-x here in the midwest. Namely the defunct "Portage Grand Prix" as in Portage, IN. .
