Since I am not well-versed in Fox-body Mustangs, I figured I'd ask for some input here.

I'm looking for a decent single-adjustable rear shock, or double-adjustable if possible without breaking the bank.

There are several options out there, so I'm just wondering what people are using. Are Koni yellows a good go-to here as they are for other platforms?

I'm only concerned about the rears, and this car will be track/auto-x only.

Thanx for any help!!!

I ran Koni Reds on my first Foxbody and Tokico Illuminas on the second one. The Konis were better by a considerable margin.

I put Tokicos on a CRX I had and KYBs on my '81 Mustang. Neither appeared to be any better than OEM.

+1 more to this. And they last a long time, and even if something does go wrong, they are great about honoring the lifetime warranty.

I have Koni yellows (single adjustable) on both of my Fox Mustangs (street/track and track only). I use the adjustment as an "on/off" switch: full soft for the street, maximum firmness for the track. I think unless you are going to go with a rear coilover setup with a very high rate spring, they will be fine.

Konis are on my challenge Rustang, not sure that is an endorsement though

Be aware of how unpleasant Koni shocks are to adjust though, and how hosed you are if you bottom out without the spacer in place. That said, Koni is a heck of a good shock.

I've run a lot of different shocks over the years, in a myriad of vehicles. My rough breakdown of quality, best to worse:

Koni Spax Bilstein KYB Gas-a-just Tokiko Sensen OEM (any) KYB AGX Gabriel Monroe Rancho

The pain in adjusting is something I'very thought about. Plus, these will be going in a fb rx7, so I need to crawl under it and see how much of a pain in the ass it will be.

Thought these were going in a fox mustang?

Nope, rx7. But the selection of good performance shocks for the rear of the fb is dwindling. Fox-body shocks bolt right in.

Oh, I had no idea. So, just to let you know, on the Koni shocks for a Fox Mustang, the adjustment is done at the top of the shock (i.e. in the hatch or trunk area), not at the axle end (with respect to how they are mounted on a Mustang).
