I'm pulling my hair out.
I have a Kelmark GT that has the full tube frame, nothing VW about it at all not even the engine.
Presently the ATL fuel cell is under the hood in front of or slightly over the front axle line and while this is convenient for gassing up it means the battery has to be in the passenger foot well and that's not convenient.
I thought I'd change the fuel cell to a longitudinal one like the MR2 and place it between the 2 seatswhere the transmission would go in a front engined car, which would allow me to put the battery up front so I could get to it and still keep the fuel filler up front. Sounds simple right? Unh Unh
My search engine skills are being stretched to the max and even phone calls to ATL were fruitless. Apparently no one has ever in the history of the world ever done this, not even Toyota in the MR2.
Custom build at mega bucks is ATL's only option and searches lead me no where either.
Surely someone on here has done something like this before and can lead me astray...I mean in the proper direction.

Would one of those tall skinny upright tanks work? I know a bunch of the rally cars would put them up against the rear bulkhead so that you could still get at the spare tire. That would leave room for a battery box.
That cell/tank looks a lot like what's in a friend's 914.
Check out ATLs pod cell, I'm get ready to order a FC160 6 gallon cell for my Formula 500.......it's a stretch but it might fit.

Harmon has a fuel cell like what you want. I got one for my Locost.
Not a great picture, but it's probably 10" W x 30"L x 10"H from my memory.
I would not use a cell in any car where it was not required by the rule book. The foam deteriorates far too rapidly. Build a well baffled metal tank to fit your central crash safe location and maximize the capacity.
Brotus7 out of curiosity how much did Harmon charge for that?
TurnerX19 good point I know the bladder type cells on last about 10 years tops (It's why I need to replace mine in the F500).
After much internet weirdness I can finally log back in.
The Pod one from ATL is too tall.
I'm not going to have foam in it.
The Harmon one is baffled wrong.
I'd take a well made metal tank, but so far I haven't found one of those that's baffled for fore & aft not side to side (as it would look mounted in my car)
Lotus elise/exige have a similar shaped tank to the locost above. Don't know the dimensions, but the I seem to recall a kit with weld in baffles for DIY.
Thanks, I didn't know the Elise had one like that, but it makes sense. Let me try searching that way.

I think Fieros used a tank like you are describing.
In reply to Pattyo :
I didn't have time to do any searching today, but now that I have multiple options maybe I can find one.
