Wow, I just saw that Big Red hit 253. His cars are just incredible.

My High School Team names are Big Reds and they still have an indian mascot.

We are talking about R.J. Gottlieb's "Big Red" Camaro, right? The original Big Red.

Big Red is a 69 Camaro, named after the gum.

Sorry, I figured everyone would know. As above, the car is a stock bodied 69 camaro. He hit 253.xx on the Mojave airstrip. It's a 1.5 mile strip.

Yeah, that's cooking. It was impressive enough when Eric Yost went 241mph at Maxton, and that was with a 1800hp twin turbo small block 3rd-gen Firebird. Going 12mph faster with the comparatively bad aero of a 1st-gen Camaro? That engine must be making some steam.

I think it was Velocity that had an hour-long documentary on this.

Seems like a looooong, curvy Salt Flat race needing some big cajones to compete.

I'd really like to see Big Red at the Big Bend Open Road Race next week.

We were at the Silver State Classic when they averaged 197 MPH or thereabouts.
